Living Room Home Theater Ideas

Author: F. Cheshire
Article:A home cinema room shouldn't be set up like a typical familyroom, instead it has specific requirements if you want to getthe home theater experience from each digitally enhanced specialeffect you watch and hear on your plasma tv. Did you know thatthere are a handful of simple things you can do tonight to makethe most of the audio and video of of your movies you arewatching? The more of these that you can begin using... thebigger the experience of the audio and video of your surroundsound system.
Number one: Try to emulate the way a real movie theater isdesigned. What do I mean? If you remember, all movie seats pointtoward the front of the screen. There are no caddy corner orangled seats in a movie theater, are there? Can you move aroundyour sofas and love seats to give you a direct view of thescreen?
Number two: Are your current speakers on the floor? Did you knowthat the floor and carpeting will silence the quality of soundfrom your speakers. You would be surprised how many people stillkeep their speakers on the floors! How do you get around this?Use speaker brackets or stick them on a bookshelf. Speakersshould optimally be placed about a few feet above your head.Just implementing this one idea will make a huge difference.
Number Three: If you can do this keep the front left and rightspeakers proportionally arranged on either side of your SonyBravia. The center channel speakers should be set up eitherabove or below your TV Screen. What about the rear speakers? Therear channel speakers should always be set up behind your loveseats whether on the walls or in the ceiling. Do you have hardwood floors? Throw rugs will add to the quality of your sound aswell.
Number 4: Lighting. It only makes sense that the more lightingthat is shown... the more your video quality will be effected.Does that mean there is no hope? You must be able to control allof the lighting inside your room. So be sure to shut off allinterior lights during your movie watching. Some remote controlscan even shut the lights automatically when the movie begins. How cool is that? What can you do with exterior sunlight? Tyrusing room darkening shades or heavy curtains that can be usedto be closed over the windows during movie watching time. If youdo nothing else remember this… the darker the room the better. Some families even keep a flashlight handy to use for thebathroom breaks!
I told you that you don't have to spend any money to get moreout of the home theater equipment and speakers you already own!Why not try some of these home theater room suggestions the nexttime your family sits down to watch a movie? I believe you willnotice a huge change in your home theater experience.
